TapRoots

TapRoots is a local funk-fusion musical band. The band blends a remarkably broad range of musical traditions, including funk, soul, salsa, Afrobeat, reggae, Afro-Cuban jazz, rock, samba, and folkloric and spiritual traditions. Beyond the music itself, TapRoots has a strong community and cultural mission. The group uses performance to bring people together across backgrounds, celebrate Afro-diasporic and Latin musical traditions, and explore themes of shared humanity, social change, joy, and spiritual connection. TapRoots has become part of the vibrant world-music scene, performing at festivals and venues and organizing events which brings together musicians, dancers, and cultural traditions.
